Fire-breaks protect your home or cabin
by Tevya on Jul.23, 2010, under Company, Utah News
If you live in Utah where there’s lots of brush or trees, the area is probably susceptible to forest or wild fires. We’re getting into fire season and your home, cabin, or other property may be at risk. We’re experts at creating fire-breaks. We can clear an area around whatever you want protected. This will prevent fires from burning your valuable home or get-away location.
We recently created a fire-break around a cabin, and they liked it so much, they’re having us make part of it into a full-fledged driveway. Previously there was very little car access to the cabin, now there’s a complete circular drive that completes the fire-break ring around the house.
Send us a bid request, or call if you’re interested having a fire-break Done Right.
Updated Bid Request Form, Land Clearing, & Pictures
by Tevya on Jul.18, 2010, under Company, Website
We’ve made lots of updates to our site to hopefully better serve you, our customers. Its been a busy year, but we finally got some time to freshen up the website. You’ll see the major changes below:
Bid Request Form
We’ve updated the bid request form. Its a little longer now, but for smaller tree jobs (8 or less trees), it should help us give a bid without having to drive to the location. This means a little more work for our customers, as they’ll need to take a picture or two, and measure the diameter of the tree(s). However, since we don’t have to use time and money to come and look at the job, we offer a 15% discount off the bid price! Its just one way we pass savings on to our customers, while still providing the highest quality removal services.
Land Clearing Page
We’ve updated the “More” page to be the “Land Clearing” page. Land clearing is anytime we clear more than a few trees, or brush, rocks, garbage, etc. The most common reasons for land clearing is to clear the way for a building, parking lot, or development; a fire break; removing trees from power-line right-of-ways, creating a path for a road, etc.
Now you can see pictures of our land clearing jobs, and read more about how good we are at it.
If you need any land clearing done, request a bid online or call us at 801-369-3314.
Pictures
We also added pictures to the Land Clearing page. As well as a bunch of demolition pictures to the demo page, from a large interior demo we did back in January (the one from the video).
New Interior Demolition Video
by Tevya on Apr.07, 2010, under Company
We just finished a new video of an interior demolition we did back in January. We demolished the interior of a Hasting’s Bookstore, to make way for a Gold’s Gym to take its place. Its now on YouTube and can even be viewed in HD! If you’d like to see it, just visit our tree removal and demolition videos page. Pictures from that job are coming soon also.
Weather Folklore – Can it predict this winter?
by Tevya on Oct.09, 2009, under Utah News
I was just browsing KSL.com and found this interesting article in their weather section, about weather folklore.
Most of the old sayings had to do with predicting how harsh the winter will be:
- “If animals have an especially thick coat of fur, expect a cold winter.”
- “When squirrels bury their nuts early, it will be a hard winter.”
- “Hornets’ nest built in the top of trees indicate a mild winter is ahead; nests built close to the ground indicate that a harsh winter is coming.”
- “A warm November is the sign of a bad winter.”
- “If the woolly worm’s (a type of caterpillar) head is more black than colored, the coldest part of the winter will come in the first months of winter.”
- “If fruit trees bloom in the fall, the weather will be severe the following winter.”
- “If the first snow falls on unfrozen ground, expect a mild winter.”
What do you think? Have you seen any of these signs? And are they going to prove good indicators this season?
Its always best to error on the side of caution. If you have dead or dying trees that could fall on your house, or a neighbor’s, now is the time to get that tree removed. Comment below on these weather indicators, then call us for a free bid or request one here on our website. We’ll be happy to be the ounce of prevention that allows you to avoid the pound of cure.

House Demolition Pictures
by Tevya on Sep.09, 2009, under Website
I finally got around to adding pictures from some of our house demolitions over the past several years. So our demolitions page is getting cooler, with some awesome shots of the houses before, and a few action shots of Spencer demolishing them. Visit the Demolitions page to see them.
I’m working on commercial demo pictures next, then videos will be priority after that. So check back soon for sweet videos.
New Site Focus on Tree Removal & Building Demolitions
by Tevya on Sep.02, 2009, under Website
We recently updated the website to better reflect our specialties of tree removal and building/structure demolitions. This helps simplify and focus our website on what we do best.
If you didn’t see the site before, and are wondering what’s different, we had a page for stump grinding, and another for concrete removal. Now, stumps are included on the tree removal page, demolitions has its own page covering private and commercial demolishing, and then there’s just a third one for all other kinds of removal.
Hope you like the changes. Videos and more pictures are coming soon.
